FedEx Freight in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Class A CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, with emphasis on safety inspections and on-time freight handling.

You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, drive and handle freight with forklifts/hand trucks, document charges, and follow dispatch instructions while delivering customer service and complying with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• Compliance with DOT regulations and basic math proficiency.
• Good written and verbal communication, and teamwork.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and handle freight safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook trailers and convert dollies to/from tractor or trailer.
• Move freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports for shipments.
• Collect freight charges and maintain related records.
• Follow hazmat regulations and match placards as needed.
• Communicate with Dispatch on delays, arrivals, and issues.
• Provide internal/external customer service and identify upsell leads.
