Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Class A CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, and perform pre/post-trip inspections in Colorado. The role requires safe forklift operation and dock work when not driving.

You will secure freight, assist with loading, and communicate with Dispatch to manage delays or issues. The job emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and customer service on the dock.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or a commercial learner permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and placarding as required.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
