Job summary

Austin Powder in Denton, NC is seeking a CDL Class A/B Driver/Operator to support safe transportation and on-site delivery of bulk products. You will work both in the field and at our home base, reporting to the Location Manager.

The role includes pre/post-trip inspections, log maintenance, handling of hazardous materials with required safety measures, and operating mobile manufacturing equipment to create consistent product quality.

Qualifications

• CDL license (Class A or B) and clean driving record.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and regulate to standards.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and safety checks.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field.
• Hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements preferred.
• Unrestricted operation of manual transmissions is a plus.
• Must be able to start work very early hours.
• High attention to detail for inventory records.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment safely and professionally.
• Drive 20–30% of time; perform physical labor outside with hand tools when not driving.
• Transport goods, inventory, hazardous materials, and cargo to destinations.
• Maintain delivery and driving logs; verify load contents against manifests; report hours.
• Load/unload materials; assist with loading overhead bins with fall protection.
• Operate MMUs on site to produce bulk products for blasting.
• Ensure bulk equipment is used to achieve consistent product quality.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and communicate maintenance needs to Location Manager.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies for bulk/packaged explosives.
• Operate equipment with precise chemical control; hands-on site operations and maintenance.
