Job summary

160 Driving Academy, the nation’s largest CDL training network, seeks a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspection to CDL exam success. Based at a designated yard, you’ll work with fellow instructors and a Lead Instructor and may cover in other yards as needed.

In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain safety, track progress, and keep training records while supporting a high first-pass rate across yards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A license with minimum 24 months of tractor-trailer driving experience (Nevada exception: 5 years).
• Must meet state instructor licensing requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards with both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide extra support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
• Report incidents to lead or corporate promptly; collaborate with instructors.
