Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspections to CDL exam success. This local, hands-on role operates from designated yards with a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor. Occasional coverage at other regional yards may be required.

The role emphasizes safety, classroom coaching, and maintaining accurate training records, with a 90-day probation and opportunities for bonus/relocation support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Class A CDL with verifiable driving experience.
• Residence in the applied state or relocation plans must be secured.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in yards with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide extra support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation; report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with Lead Instructor to deliver a consistent student experience.
• Keep yard and building clean and presentable; assist with regional yard coverage.
