Job summary

160 Driving Academy is the nation’s largest CDL training network, delivering hands-on Class A instruction in yards and on the road. You’ll teach students from pre-trip checks to passing the CDL exam, staying at a designated yard with a team of instructors.

Occasional shifts at regional yards may be required, with a focus on safety, consistency, and practical outcomes. You’ll contribute to a structured curriculum, ensure accurate training records, and support students toward successful first-time

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class A with at least 24 months verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience (Nevada exception noted).
• Must have clean MVR and be able to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor students; basic computer skills for tracking progress.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in yards and on-road settings.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and CDL testing; aim for first-time pass.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation; report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with Lead Instructor and other staff to ensure a consistent student experience.
• Assist with yard maintenance and regional yard coverage when needed.
