Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspections to passing the CDL exam in the yard and behind the wheel. You’ll be based at a designated yard, collaborating with a Lead Instructor and occasionally covering other regional yards.

Responsibilities include keeping training records, mentoring students, maintaining a clean yard, and ensuring safety and curriculum compliance.

Qualifications

• High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with 24 months of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Residency in the state applying for or secure relocation.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards using automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide additional support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
• Report incidents to lead and corporate promptly.
• Deliver a consistent student experience with fellow instructors.
