Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspections through to passing the CDL exam. You will be based at a designated yard, working with other instructors and a Lead Instructor, and may cover other regional yards as needed.

You will train drivers to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt while maintaining records and ensuring a safe, clean teaching environment. A reliable attendance record is essential.

Qualifications

Class A CDL preferred or required.
Experience teaching or training drivers is a plus.
Ability to manage classroom and yard-based training.

Responsibilities

Teach Class A driving skills in yard and on-road settings.
Guide students through pre-trip inspections and maneuvers.
Prepare students to pass CDL testing on first attempt.
Track attendance and progress, provide support as needed.
Maintain training records and documentation.
Report incidents to lead and corporate promptly.
Collaborate with Lead Instructor for consistent training.
Keep yard and building clean and presentable.
Cover for instructors at nearby yards as needed.
Adhere to safety, compliance and curriculum during 90-day probation.
