160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from their first pre-trip inspection to the day they pass the CDL exam — in the yard and behind the wheel. You will be based at a designated yard, collaborating with fellow instructors and a Lead Instructor, with occasional coverage at regional yards as needed.

This local, hands-on role suits experienced Class A drivers who want to stay home nightly and be paid for outcomes that matter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL with minimum 24 months driving experience.
• Residence in/state of applying location or plan relocation.
• Ability to teach manual transmission and pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• MVR clean; background check clearance.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills; ability to work with students.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards using automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide extra support as needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
