Job summary

160 Driving Academy is the leading CDL training school with 90+ yards nationwide. As a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer, you’ll teach students from pre-trip inspections to passing the CDL exam, in yards and on‑road, collaborating with a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor.

You’ll help keep yards tidy and may cover at other regional yards when coverage is needed. This is a local, hands-on role for experienced drivers who want to stay closer to home and be paid for outcomes.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with instructor experience preferred.
• Ability to teach hands-on training in yard and behind the wheel.
• Reliable on-site attendance and punctuality.
• Comfort with supervising students through pre-trip inspections and maneuvering drills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards using automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track student attendance and progress; provide additional support as needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
• Report incidents to lead and corporate in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to deliver a consistent student experience.
• Maintain yard/building cleanliness and assist with related tasks.
• Cover for other instructors at nearby regional yards when needed.
• Thoroughly complete a 90-day probationary period and adhere to safety/curriculum.
