Job summary

160 Driving Academy is the nation’s largest CDL training school with 90+ yards across 32 states. As a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer, you’ll teach students from pre-trip inspections to passing the CDL exam, in yards and on-road, working with a Lead Instructor and sometimes filling in at other yards.

You’ll contribute to a hands-on, safety-focused training environment, maintain training records, and support students’ progress. A 90-day probationary period applies.

Qualifications

• High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with 24+ months of verifiable driving experience (Nevada exception: 5 years).
• State of license must match applying location.
• Manual transmission experience and ability to teach it.
• Clean MVR; pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Background check clearance.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Basic computer skills for tracking progress and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in yards and on-road.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections and maneuvers.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on first attempt.
• Maintain training records and evaluations.
• Report incidents to lead and corporate promptly.
• Collaborate with instructors to deliver consistent training.
