FedEx Freight in Pawtucket, RI seeks a full-time driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process.

The role requires a CDL-A with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements, a valid MVR, DOT compliance, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Starting pay is $32.90/hour with potential to $38.08/hour depending on linehaul duties and experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year of recent driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record meeting hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMC 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good written and verbal communication.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and operate on varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and related equipment.
• Perform pre-trip safety inspections and routine maintenance.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Assist with loading/unloading using forklift or pallet jack.
• Maintain required documentation and reports per regulations.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Interact with customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and generate sales leads.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT guidelines.
