Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a qualified driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. The position offers a starting pay rate of $37.08 per hour and may include linehaul duties with mileage pay.

Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing safety inspections, securing freight, and maintaining accurate documentation. Eligible employees receive a full benefits package and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Must have 1 year of relevant driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must maintain a acceptable MVR per hiring standards and meet DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combos, including doubles/triples, and straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections daily.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convert dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with equipment like forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight in trailers using pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Engage with customers to determine pickups/deliveries and solicit additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service and lead generation for sales.
