Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a safety-focused driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers in Northborough, MA. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, securing loads, and supporting the sales process by engaging customers for additional opportunities.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, a year of related driving experience, and adherence to DOT/FMCSA rules. Pay starts around the posted rate with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
• Must possess one year of driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight in trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pick-ups, deliveries, and opportunities.
