Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Relief Driver with a Class B CDL to safely operate a collection truck and service customers on assigned routes. You will ensure vehicle readiness, follow safety standards, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure safety and proper function.
• Safely operate the heavy truck on designated routes and service each customer.
• Load waste and operate the packer, dispose at designated facility per policy.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and report safety issues.
• Monitor waste quality and vehicle condition to minimize downtime.
• Complete route sheets, VCRs and required reports.
