Job summary

Veolia Environmental Driver Specialist (CDLB) will travel to customer locations to pack, transport, and dispose of waste per federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include loading, labeling, paperwork, and on-site safety compliance.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B, MEC, TWIC, and a HazMat endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days). Prior route driving and waste industry experience are preferred; overtime and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age per FMCSA.
• Possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Maintain a current MEC and valid TWIC card.
• HAZMAT and/or Tanker endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• 1+ years route driving experience preferred.
• 1+ years of waste industry experience preferred.
• Experience with straight truck or combo vehicle and roll-off bins/boxes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Classify, segregate, and inventory waste containers for shipment.
• Load and secure materials and waste or unload at customer sites or Clean Earth locations.
• Label, package, and transport waste safely according to all local, State, Federal, FMCSA, DOT, and company safety guidelines.
• Complete paperwork (route sheet, manifests, BOLs, etc.) as required.
• Prepare and load truck; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Follow routing software and DOT hours of service.
• Provide high level customer service and communicate issues to management.
• Perform warehouse duties related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution or delivery of waste materials.
• Operate forklift and other heavy equipment; wear PPE as required.
• Report incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management promptly.
• May require up to 4 overnight stays per week with paid hotel expenses and per diem.
