Job summary

Performance Foodservice in the United States is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer or straight truck routes, ensuring safe and timely deliveries to customers while complying with DOT regulations.

The position offers comprehensive benefits from Day 1, opportunities for growth within the distribution network, and requires a CDL-A with either 0–6 months of external driver school or 6+ months of driving experience.

Qualifications

• 0 - 6 months External Driver School Direct Hire with a Class A CDL or 6+ months commercial driving experience
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer during deliveries
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations
• Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight; complete paperwork accurately
• Drive to deliver customer orders according to route schedule
• Unload products and verify deliveries with customers and collect signatures
