Job summary

Performance Foodservice in the United States is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer or straight truck routes, intrastate and interstate. You will train on local, OT R, shuttle, and overnight routes delivering and unloading food products, while adhering to DOT rules and company policies.

This trainee role focuses on safety, customer interactions, and progressive driving skills. Training pay is $25.00 per hour, with benefits starting Day 1 and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CDL A license and valid DOT Health Card are required.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass drug/road tests.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and operate loading equipment.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Ride with trainer and assist deliveries as directed.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and report safety issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Drive to deliver orders and unload at customer locations.
• Ensure proper documentation and signatures; collect payments if required.
• Maintain secure tractor, trailer, and loads at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per regulations.
• Keep work areas and trailers clean and organized.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
