Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor trailer or straight truck routes, delivering and unloading food products across local and interstate deliveries. You will train on the job with a driver trainer and complete safety checks in compliance with DOT regulations.

The role offers Monday–Friday early shifts with no nights or weekends, base pay around $65,000 in the first year with many drivers averaging $75,000, and a $7,500 signing bonus for CDL A

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
0-6 months commercial driving experience.
Valid CDL A.
Must be 21 years of age.
Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
Clean MVR for past 3 years.
Pass post offer drug test and road test; obtain DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

Attend and complete the Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
Perform pre/post trip safety checks and inspect tractor/trailer per DOT regulations.
Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
Drive to and deliver orders; unload, verify invoices, and obtain signatures.
