Job summary

XPO is seeking a Truck Driver Student in Charlotte, NC who will train to obtain a CDL-A while gaining on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver. You’ll perform vehicle inspections, keep compliant records, and learn safety policies in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll work under supervision, attend training sessions, and may use a forklift for light loading. The role offers health insurance from day one, PTO, holidays, a 401(k) match, and education assistance as part of a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• At least 1 year related driving/operational experience.
• Hold a valid state driver’s license for at least 12 months.
• CDL-A permit required by day 1; endorsements within 90 days.
• Complete TSA fingerprint background check by week 2.
• Clean driving record; no major incidents in 3 years.
• Pass DOT drug test with no positives/refusals in 3 years.
• Pass company-paid DOT physical and pre-hire test.
• Available for days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
• Perform FMCSR vehicle inspections.
• Maintain records per FMCSR and DOT.
• Load/unload freight using a forklift as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center personnel.
