Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting sales efforts. You will operate tractor-trailer combinations, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure safe handling of cargo.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with hazmat/tank endorsements (automatic transmission allowed) and a current MVR meeting standards. Experience or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Must possess one year of experience within the last three years or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT FMC regulations under 391.
• LCV drivers in specified states must meet LCV qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment, including forklift and pallet jack.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
