Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers. You will perform pre-trip inspections, hook and unhook trailers, operate tractor-trailers and ensure secure freight handling.

You will comply with DOT hazmat rules, complete documentation, and communicate with dispatch and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries. The role requires a Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and

Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds.
• Attention to documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies.
• Handle freight with forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with DOT regulations and hazmat rules.
• Communicate with customers to coordinate pickups/deliveries.
• Identify sales opportunities and provide leads to sales.
