Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. You will operate tractor-trailers (including doubles/triples where allowed) and perform daily safety inspections.

The role requires HazMat and Tank endorsements, 1 year of relevant experience or completion of the Driver Development Course, and the ability to meet DOT regulations. Training provided for dispatch communications and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year of experience in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.
• LCV qualifications apply in listed states and require standards.
• Ability to count, write, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and, where applicable, doubles/triples and straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations.
• Assist with dispatch communications and customer needs.
• Suggest additional business opportunities to drive sales.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires or other duties as required.
