Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a 4-year degree is preferred.
• 5-8 years of transportation supervisor experience; 4 years of transportation experience.
• Strong employee relations and clear communication skills, especially by phone with vendors, shippers, customers and company personnel.
• CDL license required; DOT compliance and drug/alcohol program rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Monitor driver performance using Trip Master and other controls to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain records of driver pay, equipment maintenance and performance.
• Review driver logs and paperwork for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Plan and schedule transportation personnel and process weekly payroll.
• Review routing and adjust for maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Verify vendor invoices and process accounts payable vouchers.
• Monitor fuel usage, expenses and DOT regulatory requirements.
• Ensure safety and maintenance standards for equipment and operations.
