Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Trainee Component Driver in Minnesota. The role begins with training pay of $26.50 per hour and progresses toward driving duties, with post-training earnings targeted at $70,000 to $90,000 per year. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is offered for CDLA with little to no miles.

Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA and life insurance. The position supports safety, customer service, and on-time delivery, with opportunities for PTO and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet eligibility requirements in McLane Transfer and Promotion Policy.
• Ability and willingness to load/unload all products ordered by McLane customers.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and operate related equipment.
• English reading/writing ability at work level is required.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment pre/post trip and submit DOT reports.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld, document receipts and temps.
• Train with Driver Trainer to learn safety and vehicle operation.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations and record deliveries.
• Assist in unloading, deliver product to customer premises.
• Provide on-time, undamaged deliveries and handle customer credits.
• Other duties as assigned.
