Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and move full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, following DOT rules and safety guidelines. You will interact with customers and teammates to ensure timely, safe deliveries across intrastate and interstate routes.

The role requires 12 months of commercial driving, a valid CDL A with doubles endorsement, and willingness to work a Sunday–Thursday night schedule.

Qualifications

• 12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure.
• Willing to work 3rd shift Sunday–Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks on tractor/trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues or needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and securing of freight.
• Carry route paperwork with the tractor/trailer; be ready for dispatch.
• Drive/deliver trailers according to schedule and complete hook/unhook procedures.
• Park/store tractors and keep equipment trailers secured.
• Handle damaged goods and returns in trailer and complete required paperwork.
• Unload equipment and remove trash as required.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service records per DOT and company rules.
