Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Shuttle Driver in Durham, NC who will transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem tractor/trailer or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a CDL A with doubles endorsement, 21+ years old, and the ability to handle 60–90 lb freight.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Doubles endorsement required.
• Follows DOT regulations and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre/post trip inspections of tractor/trailer and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and required repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies; reports hazards immediately.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is with the tractor-trailer load and available to the driver upon dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Manages damaged goods and returns paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and removes trash from trailers.
• Keeps daily hours-of-service log per federal/state/company requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
