Job summary

Performance Food Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Shuttle Driver to support our distribution network by transporting empty trailers to operating locations and turning around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards.

You will operate tandem or tractor trailers on intrastate and interstate routes, perform safety checks per DOT guidance, complete required paperwork, and communicate professionally with customers and co-workers to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 12+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A with doubles endorsement.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure one.
• Able to lift and move product cases of varying size.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensure all route paperwork is with tractor-trailer load and available.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs and submit as required.
