Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to support our logistics network by moving empty trailers to operating company warehouses and turning around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will operate a tandem tractor/trailer or straight truck on intrastate routes, following DOT regulations and safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a CDL A with Doubles Endorsement and at least 12 months of commercial driving experience; you must be 21+ and pass

Qualifications

• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• DOT health card or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) according to DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company driving guidelines.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Locks and secures equipment and freight.
• Handles damaged goods and returns paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and removes trash as required.
• Completes daily hours-of-service logs as required.
• Performs housekeeping duties in docking and yard areas.
