Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Abilene, TX is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to operating locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. Expect 60k–70k annually plus comprehensive benefits. The role requires a valid CDL A with doubles endorsement, a DOT health card, and a clean MVR.

Training is 2 weeks in Temple, TX, with 1–3 trips dispatching on 2:30pm–12am shifts. Responsibilities include safety checks, proper loading, paperwork compliance, and timely

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months commercial driving experience.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pre-employment drug test required.
• Road test required.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Ability to hand-lift and move freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operates tractor/trailer, turns around and delivers full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations.
• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT requirements and reports issues.
• Ensures payload is properly loaded and secured; verifies route paperwork.
• Drives according to schedule; completes daily hours-of-service logs.
• Unloads/loads freight as required and maintains clean, safe equipment.
