Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver in Texas to transport empty trailers to operating locations and return with full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. This role supports DOT-compliant, safe transport of goods across intrastate and interstate routes.

The position requires a CDL A with doubles, a clean 3-year MVR, and the ability to lift 60–90 pounds. Training is provided in Temple, TX, with a schedule of 1–3 trips on a Sunday–Friday pattern and a pay range of $60,000–$70,000 per

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6-12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure new one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Pre/post trip safety checks on tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is ready for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secure all equipment and freight.
• Handle damaged goods and returns and complete required paperwork.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs as required.
