Job summary

Performance Food Group in Texas is hiring a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers between operating locations and deliver full loads to domicile/shuttle yards. The role requires operating a tandem tractor/trailer or straight truck, adhering to DOT regulations, and coordinating with customers and co-workers.

The position pays $60,000 to $70,000 annually plus a quarterly incentive and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–12 months commercial driving experience required.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pre-employment drug test required.
• Pass road test required.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspect tractor/trailer per DOT.
• Report safety issues or repairs needed.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for proper load and securing freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is with tractor/trailer load for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers on scheduled routes and times.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures and park/store tractors and trailers.
• Secure equipment and freight; manage damaged goods and returns.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per DOT and company rules.
