Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Abilene, TX, is hiring a Shuttle Driver to transport trailers between local yards and domicile locations. You will operate tractor/trailer equipment on intrastate and interstate routes following DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Role requires CDL A with Doubles, 21+ years old, and 6–12 months driving experience. Training in Temple, TX; competitive pay and a $5,000 sign-on bonus available. Shift is Sunday–Friday, nights with 1–3 trips per dispatch.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 6-12 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work third shift, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is with load for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers per route schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Lock and secure equipment and freight.
• Collect damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork.
• Unloads and removes trash from trailers.
• Complete daily HOS logs per regulatory requirements.
• Perform housekeeping duties in tractor and loading areas.
