Job summary

Core-Mark International in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Driver, Shuttle to move empty trailers to warehouse locations and return with full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem/truck on intrastate routes, follow DOT rules, and communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.

Start time is 8:00 PM with a 4-day work week beginning Sunday night. Requirements include a CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, 12+ months driving experience, a valid DOT Health Card, must be 21+, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 12+ months commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement with experience
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies; inspects trailer for secure freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is ready with tractor trailer load and dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Locks and secures equipment and freight.
• Collects damaged goods and returns to base facility with necessary paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and removes trash from trailers as required.
• Completes daily hours-of-service logs per regulations.
• Performs general housekeeping in tractor/ dock area; keeps trailers clean.
