The Texas Department of Transportation seeks a lead maintenance technician who will supervise a crew of transportation maintenance technicians and equipment operators on skilled maintenance tasks. The role requires responding to emergencies and coordinating with private entities as needed and driving a state vehicle.

You will inspect roads, estimate materials, train crew members, and provide updates to the supervisor while ensuring safety and operational coverage across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 5+ years experience in roadway maintenance related work.
• Must have a Class A CDL or obtain at time of hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience leading and coordinating a crew.

Responsabilités

• Lead and schedule daily work assignments; serve as a resource for complex questions.
• Assist during accidents and emergency weather to sand bridges and roads and set up signs.
• Estimate materials and equipment needed for assignments.
• Inspect roads en route to job sites and report issues to supervisors.
• Perform maintenance/repair on equipment and train crew members.
• Provide operational updates to the supervisor and approve leave to ensure coverage.
• Drive a state vehicle and support emergency response as needed.
