Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL-A driver responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between service centers and turn-points using tractor-trailers. Duties include inspections, hooking/unhooking, and maintaining logs, with compliance to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• CDL class A required with double/triple, HAZMAT and tank endorsements; automatic restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV qualifications for listed states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Adapt to scheduling and operational needs as required.
