Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points, operating tractor-trailer combinations and performing pre-trip inspections.

The role requires hazmat/tank endorsements, 1 year of recent experience or completion of the Driver Development Course, and compliance with DOT rules. You may drive long distances and may be asked to support city/dock duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year of relevant driving experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR FMC regulations.
• LCV operation in listed states requires qualification/certification.
• Basic written and verbal communication; documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports; maintain daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures; follow dispatch instructions.
• Load and unload freight as required; may perform city driver or dock duties as needed.
