Job summary

American Driver LLC is seeking Polk County drivers for preloaded freight out of Bradenton to cities east of the Mississippi. This program is open to new CDL-A graduates, and you’ll have a mentor during training.

Pay starts at $650 per week during training, with a guaranteed $1,000 per week for the first 90 days solo and an average of $1,400 weekly. Expect about 2,000 miles weekly and home every two weeks; additional stop pay and a monthly bonus apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with Class A CDL and pass DOT physical.
• New drivers welcome; 120+ CDL school hours accepted.
• Up to 2 moving violations in 2 years; no DUI/DWI in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Preloaded trailers with multi-stop deliveries in the eastern states.
• Unloads are paid: $150 per stop; $50 per extra stop.

Just got your CDL-A? Good. This job is open to new drivers, and nobody expects you to know everything yet.

The things new drivers ask most

• \"Does my CDL school count?\" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.


• \"I am not good at backing yet.\" Nobody is on day one. You get weeks of practice with a mentor next to you before you ever drive alone.


• \"What if my first solo weeks are slow?\" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months.


• \"Will I be gone for months?\" No. You are home every two weeks.

What the first weeks look like

1. A recruiter calls you and reviews your CDL and MVR together with you.


2. You attend orientation (2 days max). The hotel is paid, your one-way bus ticket is reimbursed, and you get $300 for orientation when hired.


3. You spend 4 to 6 weeks driving with a mentor, learning to back, plan trips, keep logs and fuel. That earns you $650 a week.


4. You are assigned your own late-model truck (1.5 years old on average), 10-speed or automatic. For 3 months your weekly pay will not go under $1,000.

Day to day

Preloaded trailers with multi-stop deliveries. Unloads are physical, and you are paid $150 for each one.

Runs stay in the eastern states.

You will need

You must be 21 or older with a Class A CDL. New drivers need at least 120 hours from a CDL school; otherwise, 6 months of recent experience. We accept up to 2 moving violations in the last 2 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 10. You will also pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug test.
