We are hiring Class A drivers in Laredo and Webb County for an OTR dry van fleet that runs 27 states, from Colorado east, with no New England. Solo drivers average $1,200 to $1,800 a week, and your first 3 months solo come with a $1,000 weekly minimum. You are home every two to three weeks. New CDL holders train with a paid mentor first. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience start solo after orientation.
"What does it pay?"
$0.50 to $0.72 per mile based on verifiable experience. Most drivers run 1,800 to 2,400 miles a week and average $1,200 to $1,800. You get $15 for each stop except the first and last, and you are paid every week by direct deposit.
"What if my first weeks solo are slow?"
For your first 3 months after your first solo dispatch, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.
"Where will I run?"
It runs like OTR, but inside a set map: everything from Colorado east, minus New England. Drop and hook, preloads, live loads and live unloads. Day and night dispatch, and weekends are worked. You can ask for holidays off.
"How often am I home?"
Every two to three weeks.
"I just finished CDL school. Can I start here?"
Yes. A recruiter calls and reviews your license and record. Orientation takes two days at most, with your hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back, and pays $300 once you are hired. Then you train 3 to 5 weeks with a mentor, about 200 to 250 hours, at $650 a week. Then you get your own assigned truck.
"I already have experience. Do I have to train?"
No. With 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, you go solo after orientation.
"What truck will I drive?"
An assigned late-model truck, automatic or 10-speed, about 1.5 years old on average.
Medical, dental, vision and prescription. 401(k) and employee stock purchase plan. Paid time off. A free online degree for you and one family member. Approved riders and one dog under 40 pounds are allowed after training.
