We are hiring Class A drivers in the Texas Panhandle for a western OTR fleet that runs every state west of the Mississippi River. These are long hauls on open roads, the kind of miles that keep a truck moving and a paycheck steady. Drivers run 2,100 to 2,400 miles a week and average $1,100 to $1,200, with a $1,000 weekly minimum for the first 3 months solo. You are home every two to three weeks. New CDL holders train with a paid mentor. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience start solo after orientation.
You run dry van freight across the West: the Plains, the Rockies, the desert Southwest and the coast. Hauls are long, so you spend your day driving, not sitting at docks. Some loads are drop and hook or preloaded, some are live. Dispatch runs day and night, weekends are worked, and some holidays are too.
Your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average, automatic or 10-speed. Most have an APU or inverter. Approved riders and one dog under 40 pounds are allowed after training.
A recruiter calls and reviews your license and record. Orientation takes two days at most, with your hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back, and pays $300 once you are hired. New drivers then train 3 to 5 weeks, about 200 to 250 hours, at $650 a week. If you have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, you skip training and go solo.
Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants are considered regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
