Job summary

C.R. England is seeking experienced CDL drivers to operate day cabs from our McCook, IL yard. You will run a mix of live load and drop-and-hook freight within a typical 65-mile radius, with some longer regional trips up to 500–600 miles round trip.

You’ll drive daily, return to the yard, and have two consecutive days off. The schedule is typically 10–12 hours per day, 5 days a week, with an optional 6th day.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL holder.
• 21 years of age or older.
• 3+ months of recent Class A CDL experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a day cab with dispatches within a 65-mile radius of the McCook, IL yard.
• Handle a mix of live load and drop and hook freight across multiple dispatches per shift.
• Return tractors to the yard daily; some runs can be 500–600 miles round trip including OH, MI, KY, IA and WI.
• Be prepared for weekly layovers on regional runs and work 5 days a week with an optional 6th day.

The rail ramp at 5200 Joliet Road in McCook, IL is where every dispatch on this intermodal fleet starts and ends. Most of your work stays within a 65-mile radius of the ramp, with a mix of live load and drop and hook freight across multiple dispatches per shift.

You drive a day cab, and tractors leave and return to the yard daily. Some dispatches run longer, up to 500-600 miles round trip, including regional runs into OH, MI, KY, IA and WI.
