Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is seeking a qualified CDL driver for local pickup and delivery within the California region. Duties include loading/unloading cargo, checking in shipments, operating forklifts, and tractor/trailer setup and inspection.

Starting pay ranges from $33.57 to $37.30 per hour, with overtime after 8 hours per day. Benefits include health and welfare coverage, paid sick leave, and a company pension/401(k) plan for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (training possible for less).
• Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements.
• Must be at least 21 years old, have a safe driving record, pass DOT drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine paperwork effectively, and properly log loading sheets.
• Exercise independent judgment regarding the building and tearing down of the trailer to utilize time, resources, energy, and physical demands effectively and efficiently, while complying with all weight distribution laws.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Load and unload cargo.
• Perform various tasks ranging from check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor set up, and the pickup and delivery of cargo.
• Other duties, as assigned.
