McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Driver Trainee Component responsible for learning the essential functions of a Driver, including safe, on-time distribution of products to customer locations.

The role offers Day 1 benefits and a training pay rate of $26.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $85,000 after training. The position requires a Class A CDL, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work with customers and teammates across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required to operate tractor-trailer safely.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to work.
• Ability to read labels, perform basic math, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment and submit DOT inspection reports as needed.
• Document deliveries, temperatures, and exceptions with a handheld device.
• Join Driver Trainer on routes to learn driving and safety practices.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT requirements and assist unloading.
• Provide on-time delivery and handle customer credits as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
