Job summary

Performance Food Group in Springfield, MO is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer and straight truck routes delivering food to customers, adhering to DOT safety and company standards. Training with a driver trainer, performing inspections, and handling deliveries and paperwork are key parts of the role.

You will participate in a comprehensive training program with growth opportunities within America's food distribution system and competitive benefits starting Day 1.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move freight (60–90 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer in deliveries.
• Perform safety inspections (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Deliver customer orders on predetermined routes.
• Unload items and obtain customer signatures; collect payment where required.
• Ensure equipment and freight are secured at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs and paperwork.
• Perform housekeeping and assist with additional duties as required.
