Job summary

Performance Food Group (PFG) is hiring an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn tractor-trailer and straight truck routes delivering food products to customers on local routes with early morning starts. You will train under DOT rules, perform safety checks, and develop driving skills to ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; report hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded freight and verify customer invoices.
• Drive to deliver orders according to route schedule.
• Unload products at customer locations and obtain signatures; handle payments where required.
• Ensure equipment and freight are secured at all times.
