Performance Food Group is seeking an entry level Driver Trainee to learn tractor/trailer operations and become proficient in delivery of food products. The role involves hands-on training, safe driving per DOT rules, and progressive responsibilities across routes and unloading tasks.

The position emphasizes safety, punctuality, and compliance with DOT health and licensing requirements, with growth opportunities across the distribution system. Benefits beyond basic pay are offered.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–6 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A required.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid DOT Health Card.

Mansioni

• Attend and complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee training program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and report issues.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secure freight; complete paperwork.
• Drive to deliver customer orders per route schedule.
• Unload products and secure items; obtain signatures; collect payments when required.
• Ensure tractor/trailer/freight are secured at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs and required paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
