McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Driver Trainee in Milwaukee to learn essential driver functions and gradually assume responsibilities for distributing products to customer locations. You will gain exposure to warehouse operations during the developmental path toward becoming a full McLane Driver.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and follow DOT regulations.
• English literacy to perform job-related tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment for defects and submit DOT reports.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld to document receipts and temps.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and skills.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer premises.
• Provide on-time delivery and good customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
