Job summary

Schneider National in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Driver Instructor to mentor, onboard and train new CDL drivers. You will deliver hands-on classroom and in-truck instruction and help drivers master safety policies, hours of service and trip planning.

You’ll act as a safety advocate and retention ambassador, teaching Schneider guidelines and using electronic tablets and workflow tools. A positive, professional attitude and prior training experience are preferred, with opportunities for company-paid

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider’s company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
