Job summary

Schneider in Arizona is seeking a Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. You will conduct hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck, teaching safety, hours of service, trip planning, workflow, tablet usage and company policies.

You will act as safety advocate and driver retention ambassador, evaluate candidates, and prepare drivers for a rewarding career at Schneider. This salaried role requires a CDL and residency near Phoenix, offering benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT physical.
• Minimum 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• Live within 50 miles of Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
