Job summary

Schneider National is seeking an experienced Driver Instructor to recruit, train and onboard new CDL drivers. The role focuses on hands-on classroom and truck training, teaching safety, hours of service, trip planning, tablet usage, and Schneider procedures to develop capable drivers.

You will mentor drivers, provide feedback, and prepare them for a long, safe career with Schneider. The position requires strong coaching skills and a positive, professional attitude, with adherence to company

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider's guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider's electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
